The road less traveled

My daughter and I went horseback riding in Corner Canyon this weekend with our good friend Russ Pack. I give Russ a hard time for wanting to scale cliffs on horseback, but the former Boy Scout who grew up in Pleasant Grove is one heck of a tour guide to Utah’s back country. I had no idea this place was there. We could see Utah Lake and the Salt Lake valley at the same time we took in four different mountain ranges.
As we were enjoying the spectacular scenery, I couldn’t help but think what an amazing place it would be to run. I am a creature of habit. I like to run the same routes because knowledge really is power when you’re on foot for a half dozen miles. (Especially are their restrooms or water fountains??)
Still, I loved the wonder of something new so close to home.
My daughter and I plan to head back to the Draper Canyon to explore the numerous trails we saw. I am excited about the challenge (some serious inclines) and what we’ll see along the way.
Anyone have any other suggestions on other great places to run along the Wasatch Front?
